Pathway Courses

Have you ever found yourself wondering what you would do if you were lost in the wild, stranded without modern tools, or facing an emergency where survival depended on your skills alone? Many people realize too late that they lack the essential knowledge to stay safe, find food, build shelter, and navigate in the wild. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, a prepper, or someone simply seeking greater self-sufficiency, the need for real, hands-on survival skills has never been more important.

Our Pathway Program is designed to take you on a step-by-step journey, starting with the fundamentals of survival and building up to advanced wilderness skills. This isn’t just theory—every course is hands-on, immersive, and built around real-life scenarios. Past students have used these skills in unexpected ways: one hunter lost in the mountains was able to find his way back using natural navigation techniques; another camper started a lifesaving fire in freezing conditions using only materials from the land. Others have knapped their own stone knives, built shelters that kept them warm through the night, and crafted bows that brought down game in to feed their family. These are not just classes—they are experiences that prepare you for real world situations.

By joining the Pathway Program, you’ll gain practical survival knowledge that will serve you for a lifetime. Each course builds on the last, giving you the confidence and ability to handle any wilderness situation. Learning fire-starting, shelter-building, navigation, and primitive hunting techniques ensures that you’re prepared for both recreational backcountry trips and real emergencies. Every lesson is carefully designed to equip you with the skills you need to thrive, not just survive. If you’re ready to take control of your self-reliance journey, this program is for you.

Into The Wild - Episode 1

In this series I showcase the skills taught in the pathway program as well as the practical use of primitive and wilderness skills. Join me on the adventure as I travel from the high desert to rocky mountain timberline. Throughout the journey I am traveling with a minimal gear kit containing only the essentials. I'll be making the tools and things I need to live sustainably in the wild with local natural materials.

DALL·E 2025-03-21 12.47.21 - A rugged teenage boy, Flint, standing in a dense forest with

Introduction:

Flint tightened the straps on his pack, adjusting the weight so it settled just right against his back. The wind carried the scent of pine and damp earth as he took his first step into the unknown. This wasn’t just another hike—this was a test, a proving ground. Out here, in the wild, there were no shortcuts, no easy solutions. Only the skills he carried in his hands and the knowledge he had in his head would keep him moving forward.

For as long as he could remember, Flint had dreamed of mastering the old ways—of making fire without matches, of finding food where others saw only weeds, of shaping the raw world into the tools he needed to survive. Now, he was finally getting his chance. His only guide? The land itself and the ancient knowledge of those who had walked this path before him.

But survival isn’t just about knowing what to do—it’s about doing it. That’s where you come in. Wildcraft Chronicles isn’t just Flint’s journey; it’s yours, too. With the survival kit in your hands, you’ll follow along, learning the same skills he does, testing yourself in ways you never imagined. Can you make a fire the way Flint does? Can you craft a shelter, find food, purify water? Can you outlast the wild?

The adventure begins now. Flint is stepping into the unknown. Will you step with him?

"Kyle truly has a passion for teaching these skills. I spent allot of time trying to learn the bow drill from other instructors. Kyle Helped me succeed in one day! He truly knows his craft!

- Eduardo Aragon - 2019

"I just wanted to say thanks again for an incredible weekend. I learned more than I imagined and had so much fun."

Nick Delgreco - 2022

Kyle is an amazing and patient teacher! We tried other schools like Making Tracks, but they just didn't offer what we wanted. After taking Kyle's survival program we fell in love with his classes because his easy going personality and vast wealth of knowledge.

This program was exactly what we were looking for. My kids loved every class and can't wait to take more. My oldest would come home excited to teach me what he learned and the kids would be using the primitive items they made throughout the week. He would ask me if Kyle could be their young mens leader so they could do survival stuff.

Matthew Davis - 2024

Kyle is so patient with all the kids and I can't believe how much he knows. He would always stop teaching to share a new plant, show a cool survival trick or tell a story or kid friendly joke. He is an amazing teacher and quickly makes you feel like you've known him for a long time. My kids loved every class.
